2026 independence day netball tournament and regional sports development

The Greater Accra Regional Sports Directorate of the National Sports Authority wishes to inform stakeholders that the Greater Accra Netball Federation has officially invited Netball Clubs within the Region to participate in the Independence Day 2026 Netball Tournament.

The tournament is scheduled to take place on Friday, 6th March 2026 at the Nii Okraku Stadium, Tema New Town, commencing at 9:00 a.m. prompt.

In view of the absence of confirmed sponsorship, participating clubs will be expected to cater for their respective team expenses. Officiating officials will also make the necessary arrangements to cater for themselves, as the Federation continues to pursue sponsorship and funding opportunities for future competitions.

The Greater Accra Regional Sports Directorate of the National Sports Authority further encourages all Regional Sports Federations to remain proactive and committed to the development and promotion of their respective sporting disciplines within the Region. Federations are urged to intensify grassroots development programmes, organize regular competitions, and strengthen collaboration with Municipal and District Assemblies to enhance talent identification and capacity building.
